Established in 2014, Accepting Others Organization (AOO) is a non-governmental, non-profit, and non-religious entity operating in federal Iraq and the Kurdistan Region. Led by women and youth, our focus is on promoting and safeguarding human rights, particularly advancing women’s rights and empowerment nationwide. AOO is dedicated to fostering peaceful coexistence through tolerance and collaboration across diverse societal segments. Role of the Project Coordinator:

The Project Coordinator plays a pivotal role in overseeing the successful implementation of project activities, ensuring coordination among project teams, stakeholders, and partners, and facilitating efficient communication and reporting mechanisms. They are responsible for managing project timelines, budgets, and resources to achieve project objectives effectively.

Specific Tasks:

  1. Project Planning and Implementation:
    • Develop detailed project work plans in collaboration with project managers and team members, outlining objectives, activities, timelines, and resource requirements.
    • Coordinate the implementation of project activities according to established plans, ensuring adherence to project goals and targets.
  2. Team Coordination and Support:
    • Coordinate with project staff, volunteers, and partners to ensure effective execution of project activities, including task assignment, scheduling, and supervision.
    • Provide guidance, support, and capacity-building opportunities to project teams to enhance their performance and productivity.
  3. Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Liaise with local authorities, community leaders, donors, and other stakeholders to solicit their involvement and support in project implementation.
    • Organize and facilitate meetings, workshops, and consultations with stakeholders to gather feedback, share updates, and address concerns.
  4. Monitoring and Reporting:
    • Monitor project progress and performance against established indicators and targets, identifying areas for improvement and risk mitigation.
    • Prepare regular progress reports, including narrative updates and financial reports, for project management, donors, and other stakeholders.
  5. Budget Management:
    • Assist in budget planning, monitoring, and tracking of project expenditures, ensuring compliance with donor requirements and organizational financial policies.
    • Work closely with the finance team to review budget forecasts, expenditure reports, and financial transactions related to the project.
  6. Risk Management:
    • Identify potential risks and challenges to project implementation and develop mitigation strategies to address them.
    • Monitor project risks and issues, proactively addressing any obstacles or delays that may arise during project execution.
  7. Quality Assurance:
    • Ensure the quality and relevance of project activities and outputs, conducting periodic reviews and assessments to identify areas for improvement.
    • Implement quality assurance measures to maintain high standards of project delivery and accountability.

Essential Criteria:

  1. Education and Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in project management, international development, business administration, or a related field.
  2. Project Management Experience:
    • Proven experience of at least 3 years in project coordination or management, preferably in humanitarian or development contexts.
    • Demonstrated ability to plan, implement, and monitor projects effectively, with a track record of achieving results.
  3. Leadership and Communication Skills:
    • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and coordinate diverse teams.
    • Strong negotiation and diplomacy skills to engage with stakeholders and resolve conflicts effectively.
  4. Organizational and Time Management:
    • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
    • Attention to detail and accuracy in project planning, reporting, and budget management.
  5. Problem-Solving and Decision-Making:
    • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills to identify challenges, evaluate options, and make sound decisions under pressure.
    • Ability to anticipate and address potential issues and risks in project implementation proactively.
  6. Adaptability and Flexibility:
    • Adaptability to work in dynamic and challenging environments, with a flexible approach to changing circumstances and requirements.
    • Willingness to travel and work in remote or insecure areas as needed by project demands.
