Established in 2014, Accepting Others Organization (AOO) is a non-governmental, non-profit, and non-religious entity operating in federal Iraq and the Kurdistan Region. Led by women and youth, our focus is on promoting and safeguarding human rights, particularly advancing women’s rights and empowerment nationwide. AOO is dedicated to fostering peaceful coexistence through tolerance and collaboration across diverse societal segments. Our efforts center on peacebuilding, social cohesion, and community engagement, believing in the power of dialogue to create inclusivity. A key aspect of our work involves advocating for crucial frameworks such as the Iraqi National Action Plan II and UN Security Council Resolutions 1325 and 2250, aiming to ensure gender equality and enhance women and youth participation in peacebuilding. Role of the Driver with Their Own Car:
The Driver with Their Own Car plays a vital role in providing transportation services, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of passengers or cargo to their designated destinations. They are responsible for maintaining their vehicle in good working condition and adhering to traffic regulations and safety protocols at all times.
Specific Tasks:
- Transportation Services:
- Safely and punctually transport passengers or cargo to designated locations, following predetermined routes and schedules as required.
- Provide assistance to passengers as needed, such as helping with loading and unloading luggage or ensuring passenger comfort during the journey.
- Vehicle Maintenance:
- Regularly inspect the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition, including checking fluid levels, tire pressure, brakes, lights, and other essential components.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and cleaning, to keep the vehicle in optimal operating condition.
- Route Planning and Navigation:
- Plan efficient routes to minimize travel time and optimize fuel efficiency, taking into account factors such as traffic conditions, road closures, and weather conditions.
- Utilize navigation tools and maps to navigate unfamiliar routes or locations, ensuring timely arrival at destinations.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to all traffic laws, regulations, and safety guidelines while operating the vehicle, including speed limits, seat belt usage, and avoiding distractions while driving.
- Maintain a clean driving record and comply with any additional requirements or certifications necessary to operate a vehicle for commercial purposes.
- Customer Service:
- Provide courteous and professional service to passengers or clients, addressing their needs and concerns in a friendly and respectful manner.
- Communicate effectively with passengers to provide updates on travel times, route changes, or any other relevant information during the journey.
- Emergency Response:
- Be prepared to respond calmly and efficiently to emergencies or unexpected situations while on the road, such as vehicle breakdowns, accidents, or medical emergencies.
- Follow established procedures for contacting emergency services, providing assistance to passengers, and ensuring their safety and well-being.
Essential Criteria:
- Valid Driver’s License:
- Possession of a valid driver’s license for the type of vehicle being operated, with a clean driving record and no history of serious traffic violations or accidents.
- Own Vehicle:
- Ownership or access to a well-maintained and roadworthy vehicle that meets all legal requirements for commercial use, including valid registration, insurance, and inspection.
- Experience and Skills:
- Demonstrated experience as a driver, with a strong understanding of safe driving practices, vehicle maintenance, and navigation skills.
- Ability to operate a vehicle safely in various road and weather conditions, including urban, suburban, and rural environments.
- Reliability and Punctuality:
- Dependability and punctuality in meeting scheduled pick-up and drop-off times, ensuring passengers or cargo reach their destinations on time.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and adapt to changing schedules or routes as needed to accommodate passengers’ needs or unexpected circumstances.
- Communication Skills:
- Clear and effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with passengers, clients, and colleagues in a professional and courteous manner.
- Ability to understand and follow instructions, communicate effectively with others, and provide information or assistance as required.
- Safety Consciousness:
- Strong commitment to safety, with a focus on prioritizing the well-being of passengers, pedestrians, and other road users at all times.
- Knowledge of defensive driving techniques, accident prevention strategies, and emergency response procedures to ensure the safety of passengers and cargo.

- Customer service orientation and a positive attitude towards providing a pleasant and comfortable travel experience for passengers or clients.
- Ability to remain calm, patient, and courteous in dealing with diverse individuals and situations, while maintaining professionalism and discretion.
