Main Objective(s)

The overarching objective of the “Capacity Building for AOO and other WROs within the Kurdistan Region of Iraq” project, funded by UN Women/WPHF, is to strengthen the institutional and human resource capacities of Accepting Others Organization (AOO) while supporting sustainability efforts and providing essential training to enhance project development, communication, and networking skills for AOO staff and other Women’s Rights Organizations (WROs) in Erbil and Duhok governorates, Kurdistan Region of Iraq.

Detailed Objectives:

  1. Institutional Development and Sustainability:
    • Revise AOO’s Profile and Human Resource (HR) Manual to ensure alignment with organizational goals and best practices.
    • Develop a strategic plan for AOO spanning two and five years, providing a roadmap for organizational growth and development.
    • Support AOO by covering 50% of office rent, electricity, and community service fees for six months, contributing to organizational stability and sustainability.
  2. Capacity Building in Project Development and Proposal Writing:
    • Conduct training sessions for 51 individuals, including AOO staff, focusing on project design and proposal writing to enhance their skills in developing impactful projects and securing funding opportunities.
  3. Enhancing Communication and Networking Skills:
    • Provide training on effective written communication techniques to facilitate clear and concise messaging.
    • Offer guidance on networking strategies to foster collaborations and partnerships, amplifying the impact of AOO’s initiatives and activities.
  4. Fundraising Capacity Building:
    • Equip AOO staff and other WRO members with essential fundraising skills, empowering them to diversify funding sources and sustain their organizations’ operations and projects effectively.

Through these objectives, the project aims to empower AOO and other WROs within the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, enabling them to operate efficiently, develop impactful projects, and advocate effectively for women’s rights and empowerment.
