Livelihood

AOO works to improve economic opportunities and strengthen the resilience of vulnerable communities by promoting sustainable livelihoods and inclusive economic growth. In contexts affected by conflict, displacement, and economic instability, access to decent work and income remains a major challenge. AOO addresses these gaps by supporting individuals—especially youth and women—to build practical skills, access opportunities, and develop income-generating activities.

We provide vocational training that is closely aligned with labor market needs, ensuring that participants gain relevant and applicable skills that increase their employability. These trainings are complemented by soft skills development, including communication, teamwork, and problem-solving, to better prepare individuals for the workplace.

In addition, AOO supports the development and growth of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) as a key driver of local economic recovery. We offer entrepreneurship training, business coaching, and mentoring to help individuals start or expand their businesses. Through small grants and targeted support, we enable entrepreneurs to turn ideas into viable businesses, improve productivity, and create job opportunities within their communities.

Recognizing the importance of sustainable livelihoods, AOO also integrates components related to food security and nutrition, particularly in vulnerable and rural areas. We support households in diversifying their income sources and adopting practices that enhance their economic stability and well-being.
